So You Want to Hire a Wedding Planner?

We are so glad you stopped by to read this! We actually really enjoy what we do, and making your wedding the best it can possibly be, is what we are all about. If we can work together as a team (because that’s what we will become), then we will be so much better equipped to handle the challenges, logistics and execution of your wedding festivities. It doesn’t matter if it is “Month Of” planning services or “Full Planning” services, there are similar things that we look for, and want from you and your other half, to ensure that we work well together.

Timely Responses: Our job requires us to be working with several vendors at a time to ensure that your wedding is running efficiently and smoothly.  We need you to be available to answer questions, make decisions, give the okay, and the “go ahead” as things slide into place within a timely manner via phone, in person and email.  We want to keep you in the loop, and keep all of your wedding team happy in the process. This keeps everything running smoothly. We will ensure that we are there for you, as well.

Sharing Information:  Do you have a theme and flow of events in your mind?  Please share them with us so we can keep on the same line of thinking. Your vision needs to be our vision. Create a mood board and bring it to our meeting. We can help expand on it, or downscale it, to make it work with your thoughts and budget. If you don’t like something that we suggest, then please let us know, because after all, this is your wedding. Changes along the way with budget, ideas, additions and things taken out, need to be brought to our attention in the planning process. Surprises make your guests happy, but, us… not so much. Adding another bridesmaid, flower girl or speech to the plans last minute, might not seem like a big deal to you, but it might be to us and other members of your wedding team. Your friends and family members may get tired of hearing all of the details of your upcoming big day, but you hired us, for this reason. Concerns, fears and doubts?  Run them by us. Chances are that we can guide you in the right direction.

Mutual Respect:  We have spent a lot of time learning about the wedding industry by educating ourselves, attending conferences, seminars, networking, investing in our business, and working with many couples over the years because this is what we enjoy, and what makes our hearts happy. We have learned through our own trials and errors, as well as others, and we really believe that our experiences are truly valuable to you. Please know that we don’t make our decisions lighly, or on a whim. Yourselves and your wedding are our priority. In return, we expect that you will treat us with respect, not speak down to us, and not make unreasonable demands. There will be times when you are frustrated with the process, because that is how life works. It’s full of ups and downs and curveballs. However, we need you to value our opinions and suggestions, knowing that we have your back. We will tackle the challenges and handle situations professionally and in your best interest.

Thank-You

Thank You Goes a Long Way: Give a shout out to us on social media, write a thank you card to let us know that we were appreciated along the way, or just say it outloud. There is nothing better then when a wedding is over, and our couples and their guests are happy with how everything went.  It seriously puts us on top of the world to know that we made a difference in your world for a short time. www.traceymevents.ca
